get involved!!!
MONTHLY MEETINGS: We meet regularly every 3rd Saturday of the month, 2-5pm at the Craft and Folk Art Museum at 5814 Wilshire Blvd. Los Angeles, CA 90036. Either bring along a project you're already working on or just drop by to enjoy the company of other makers.
WORK PARTIES: The submission cycle for the squares is over, but you can still get involved! Come to a local work party to prep for our May 25th installation as posted on our facebook page.
SKID ROW: Please join us to for the second phase of the project in Skid Row where we'll be partnering with Downtown Women's Center (DWC). After deinstallation, we could use your help to clean and reconfigure the granny squares as blankets for DWC residents. YBLA is also partnering with DWC to design products for DWC residents to produce and sell at their shop MADE. Volunteers are needed to help us conduct knitting and sewing workshops for DWC residents in summer and fall 2013.
CATALOG ESSAYS: If you're literary inclined, we are on the lookout for 1000-1500 word essays for our project catalog to be printed in early 2014. The deadline to submit is September 7th, 2013. For more info please see our call for essays.
For those who are out of state, contact us at yarnbombing18 (at) gmail (dot) com to learn about creating an offshoot project of your own.
